People often ask us where they should go out to eat. There are just a couple of places to eat in Oceanside and Netarts, and more in Tillamook. Here are our favorites:
Tacos La Providencia is a taco cart on 101, about .3 miles north of where Route 6 hits 101 in Tillamook. Absolutely awesome. We go there at least once almost every time we visit. Nice people. Remarkably consistent. Inexpensive. Great salsas. Always open. Tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, enchiladas. Our contractor used to get lunch there every day for his crew. He recommended the shredded beef burrito--the rest is history. My only complaint is that they don't chill their sodas.
Brewin' on the Wind is a coffee shop in downtown Oceanside, just above the parking lot where you park if you want to walk on the beach. The place has a great feel. OK coffee. Huge, delicious chocolate chip-pumpkin muffins and bagels.
Rosanna's Cafe in downtown Oceanside does lunch and dinner. Good burgers and sandwiches, plus seafood, specials, etc. Amazing deserts. Rosanna's is a real institution, with great views right on the ocean. I recommend their clam chowder, which comes with a warm mini-loaf of fresh pumpernickel bread.
The Schooner is a restaurant/bar in Netarts. They have a broad menu, with burgers, seafood, pasta, steak, etc. But we usually get their pizzas. The bar is friendly, serves very cold beers, and is a good place to watch sports (unless you're a Lakers fan).
These four places account for almost all of our meals out. There are more restaurants out there. If you find a good one, let us know!
