Fifteen things to do in Oceanside

    Things to do

    • Go for a walk on the beach. Keep an eye out for agates.
    • Walk out to Cape Trail at Cape Lookout. 2.4 miles to the tip of the cape. 4.8 miles round trip.
    • Go birding or for a jog out the spit to the entrance of Tillamook Bay. About 8 miles round trip.
    • Visit the Cape Mears Lighthouse, Octopus tree and largest sitka spruce in the West.
    • Check out the Tillamook Air Museum just south of Tillamook on 101.
    • Go to the farmer’s market in Tillamook. Summer months, Saturday mornings.
    • Go to the aquarium in Newport. 1.5 hours each way.
    • Rent ATVs and ride the sand dunes at Sand Lake.
    • Go clamming.
    • Go fishing. Salmon, steelhead, light tackle angling in the ocean and area rivers. More info here.
    • Rent a boat and go crabbing in Netarts Bay. Last I checked it was $50 for 4 hours. Crab rings included.
    • Go for a train ride. Info here.
    • Sit on the porch and drink wine.
    • Play cards, backgammon or Jenga.
    • Rent a movie at the Netarts Grocery.
